A SHORT REFLECTION
You can come as you are.
Some days, even the ordinary things feel heavy. In this passage, Jesus invites people carrying a burden to come to him. His invitation doesn’t ask them to arrive with everything already sorted out.
Read the next lines and you find gentleness: “I am gentle and humble in heart.” Jesus offers rest as we learn from him. For this moment, you can pause, bring what weighs on you to God, and let these words stay with you.
A small step for todayTake a slow breath. Name one thing you’re carrying, and bring it into your prayer.
Read the verse in context Matthew 11:28–30
28 “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
